When we talk about optical it mean the behavior of visible, infrared, and ultraviolet light. Light is an electromagnetic wave, analogous phenomena occur in X-rays, microwaves, radio waves, and other forms of electromagnetic radiation. Optics can thus be regarded as a sub-field of electromagnetism.
Optical software is create by a group of optical engineering. The software is used to calculate how a light be focus after going thought an object (such as glass, clear plastic, cystal...ect).
Optical software had been used in a lot of different field such as aerospace, automotive, biotechnology, consumer electronics, defense, medical, semiconductor, and telecommunications sectors.

Optics-based sensors are the most common sensors in fingerprint scanners. Almost three decades ago, optics-based scanners for law-enforcement applications. Optical sensors are known to acquire quality images of clean fingerprints, and offer the capability to image in more than two-dimensions for improved accuracy.
Eye

Infrared light is use in eye scanner to transfer image back and forward from eye scanner.

On July 27, 2006 Breault Research Organization used they ASAP (Advanced Systems Analysis Program) to help the medical industry to create a robust, multi-layered skin model. The RSM (Realistic Skin Model) are able to modeling the major layers of human skin such as stratum corneum, epidermis, dermis, and hypodermis. With this new technology, medical field was able to help modeling of skin disease and disorder.
